This Magic texture paper is going to be your kids favorite craft to do this summer! Color a cool picture, add water, and watch it puff up!

This kids’ craft project is PERFECT- very few supplies and easy instructions! The only problem is that the kids are going to love this project so much that you had better buy a few packs of this magic texure paper!

And I’m going to use the term kids loosely because I totally had a blast with it. I kept creating!

Supplies for this kids craft camp project
I tried both Sharpie and Crayola washable markers. Since we were using water, I wasn’t sure if the crayola markers would bleed when the water was added-but both markers worked great!
If you don’t want to purchase a dropper, we used a wet paintbrush to achieve the puffy look.
I linked directly to the magic paper I bought, but there is a few different sets that look cool
They are pretty new to the market so there are not alot of reviews on any of these!
How to use magic texture paper
This craft supplies could not be easier- which is always a plus when dealing with kids!
step 1: Draw your picture
Using your markers, draw a picture. If you need help, I have a printable with fun drawing prompts!

step 2: Add water
Once you have your picture all done, add your dropper in the cup with water and fill it with water. Start adding drops onto your picture.

Try to keep the water contained to only the picture you drew to make it look 3-D.

It will puff up immediately.

step 3: Tips and Tricks
Make sure not to add to much water. It will expand a little as it dries. (of course if your kids are little, they can just add as mush as they please!) My nephew wanted his whole paper to foam up! It looked like a sponge when the whole thing was wet.

I wanted to also show you the back because it foams up a little as well.

This material is like a sponge. My mom had a flat sponge that puffs when you get it wet and we tried it out but it didn’t puff up quite the same so it’s a unique product you can’t find in stores!
Looking for a fun twist? My neice added food coloring to her water to add dye to the magic texture paper!

And repeat
This project is so addictive! I easily burned through 8 sheets just doodling and watching it puff!

I had to buy another set and so I could have my neice and nephew try it out! It was a huge hit!
